The Vanuatu TIN is 6 digits in length, with all characters being numbers. TINs are issued to individuals and entities in accordance with the Tax Administration Act effective January 1, 2020. A person can only have one TIN at any time. Only one Tax Identification number can be issued to a particular person. The Tax Identification Numbers can only change if there is a change in the nature of a business (e.g., from being sole trader to a limited company). Vanuatu TINs are systematically generated by the Revenue Management System (RMS).
