The Croatian Personal Identification Number (OIB) has 11 digits with an optional prefix of HR. It has the same format and structure for individuals or entities. The Republic of Croatia introduced the OIB in the Croatian legal system. The Tax Administration is responsible for the assignation of the OIB to every person as a unique and obligatory identifier in the whole Croatian public administration system.
